Events in Motion (EIM), an upscale event-planning agency in Los Angeles, has created a new division, Weddings by EIM, to handle the "growing number of requests for elaborately designed weddings." They've had requests to create the look and feel of the Fiji Islands and the old-world romanticism of a Tuscan villa.

It's easy to see the logic in this trend. Couples who keep their nuptials nearby can spend the travel money they save on bringing vtel look and feel of virtually any destination to a local venue. Wedding guests who might not have been able to spare the time and money for distant travel are more likely to attend. According to EIM, it saves money all around.

For EIM, everything in their special-events warehouse is 100% customizable, or required items are built in-house, eliminating outside vendors and passing the savings on to the couple. This means anyone's budget will be used towards bringing their visions to life.

Though this concept is growing quickly in LA and NY, chances are it will soon catch on in other large cities with upscale event-planning agencies.

Clearly more and more couples want their own personal touch blended with today's chic innovations. Each couple has a unique personality - one they want reflected in their wedding - in everything from the theme to the invitations to the food to the wedding favors.
